This position is ideal for someone with an agricultural background who enjoys direct interaction with farmers and landowners and finds purpose in practical, farm-centric solutions. You will support nutrient and manure management planning, soil conservation, mapping, recordkeeping, and regulatory processes while representing Red Barn Consulting as a trusted partner.

What You’ll Do

Visit farms and agricultural sites to collect soil, manure, and field data

Support development, updating, and maintenance of nutrient management plans tailored to each operation

Assist with soil conservation, erosion & sediment control, and related planning activities

Use GIS and mapping tools to develop accurate resource and field maps
-
Help clients prepare and maintain compliant plans with regulatory standards

Maintain accurate records, documentation, and plan files
-
Attend meetings with clients, conservation districts, and regulatory agencies
-
Serve as a field-based advocate and technical resource for Red Barn clients
Preferred Qualifications

Background in agriculture, agronomy, soil science, farm management, or related field

Practical farm experience (e.g., crop production, livestock operations, manure handling)

Comfort working outdoors in varied field conditions

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Basic familiarity with GIS or mapping technologies is a plus

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to farm sites
-
Positive, hands-on, solution-focused mindset
